Climate change is a global problem, threatening the whole World. However, LDCs are more impacted by it, in particular, Small Islands Developing States (SIDS). This is due to their greater exposure to climate hazards (sea-level rise, tropical storms, floods, stronger rain patterns) due to their location and their low economic capacity to adapt.

IOLDCs' main objective, through its Climate Change and Human Rights division, is to write reports advocating the impacts that this issue has on health (vector-borne diseases, cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, food- and water-borne diseases), food and water security, culture and livelihoods of people in the Pacific and Caribbean LDCs, especially felt by women and indigenous communities.

IOLDCs works to collaborate in building climate-resilient societies and partnerships for LDCs to adapt from climate change, including displacement.
